See Sothbey's European Works of Art, Arms and Armour, Furniture and Tapestries NY January 13th, and 15th 1192, sale number 6266 lot number 249 for a similar example. Original condition without repairs. Some through cracks around one of the twelve surrounding figures. Measures 7 inches across.

17th to early 18th century wax relief plaque of the Virgin Mary and Infant Jesus. Gnadenbild Unserer Lieben Frau Von Der Immerwährenden Hilfe translates to Our Lady of Perpetual Help (or Our Lady of Perpetual Succour/ Succor or "Sancta Mater de Perpetuo Succursu." The plaque measures 4.25 x 5.5 inches. The early wood shadowbox frame measures 12.5 inches high by 10.75 inches wide and 2.75 inches deep. The seal was broken in 2 places. The inner frame appears to be gilt silver and is of or near the period.
